Bethesda Lutheran School has Christian teachers who are devoted to helping your child learn and grow.

Mr. Jason Honig

Graduated from Concordia University Chicago in 2002 with a B.A. in Secondary Education-Social Science. He has been a member of the Bethesda family for 21 years as he came back to teach in 2002 after graduating from Bethesda in 1993. He has served the Rogers Park community in many ways including Little League coach for 13yrs and serves as a member on civic organizations. Mr. Honig now serves as the Principal and 7th and 8th grade homeroom teacher. He also teaches 3rd-8th grade social studies, public speaking, religion, and gym.



Mr. Brian Schultz

Graduated from Valparaiso University and is currently completing a Master's Degree in Education. The 2006-2007 school year was his first year teaching at Bethesda. Mr. Schultz teaches 3rd through 8th grade Math and Science and is the homeroom teacher for the 5th and 6th grade.



Mrs. Karen Pfeffer

Graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh and has taught in public and parochial schools in Wisconsin, Iowa, Montana, and Illinois. She is married to Paul Pfeffer, a retired Lutheran minister, and has two adult sons. Mrs. Pfeffer has been teaching at Bethesda since 1996 and is currently the Language Arts teacher for grades 3rd through 8th, and the 3rd and 4th grade homeroom teacher.



Mrs. Patricia Grunde

Graduated from Augustana College, Rock Island, with a B.A. in Elementary Education and from DePaul University with a MEd. in Special Education. She is married and has three children. Mrs. Grunde has served in the Lutheran school system for over 30 years as an administrator, an early childhood director, and teacher in grades K-8. She is presently teaching 1st/2nd grade and is the Childcare Director. Mrs. Grunde is pleased and excited to be joining the dynamic group of educators at Bethesda.



Ms. Erin Parks

Erin Parks graduated from National-Louis University in Chicago. She grew up in Livonia, Michigan but has lived in Rogers Park for 7 years. This year is her first at Bethesda! Last year Erin was a teacher's assistant at South School in Glencoe, IL. Erin has also been a substitute in Evanston, Skokie, Chicago and Berwyn Illinois. She is very excited to "bee" part of the hive!



Mrs. Linda Baase

Graduated from Concordia University, Chicago, with a B.A. and an M.A. She is married to Dan and has three grown children and grandchildren. Mrs. Baase has taught Kindergarten and preschool at Bethesda since 1986. She now teaches the 4-year-old preschoolers.



Mrs. Barbara Williams

Graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She is married to Roger, Finance Manager at the Chicago office of UNITE/HERE, and has two adult sons. Mrs. Williams has been teaching at Bethesda since 1994 and is currently the teacher for preschool 3's.
